Dr. Heather Parrish
Passionate and detail-oriented, Heather practices exemplary medicine, and we are lucky to have her capable and caring personality as part of the Mountain Ridge family.
Dr. Parrish joined our team in October of 2020. Heather hails from California, but spent her childhood growing up on a sailboat in Central and South America with her parents and brother. Exposure to the lack of veterinary medicine and preventative care for animals in underdeveloped countries inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Heather graduated from UC Davis in 2013, followed by the completion of a general practice internship. Drawn to the mountains and undeniably beautiful seasons, she moved to Colorado for a change of pace, and we are happy that she has found a home at Mountain Ridge. In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her husband doing all things outdoors. Some of their favorite activities include hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking. Their dog Piper never misses out on an opportunity to join them on their adventures. They also have two lazy cats at home who are always up for snuggle time on the couch!
Tidbits and trifles:
Near and far - Heather's most recent trip took her camping through Iceland!
Adventure on two wheels - She and her husband bicycle in every season.
Underwater wandering - Heather is dive certified!
A Day in the Life:
What is your favorite part about being a Vet?
“My favorite part of being a veterinarian would have to be twofold. Number one, I love being in the operating room. The OR is truly my happy place and I would gladly perform surgery any day of the week! But perhaps more importantly, I love acting as a facilitator to the human-animal bond - teaching my clients, hearing their stories, guiding them through difficult decisions, and celebrating all of the victories. I believe that the relationship we form with our animals is up there as one of the most special experiences we have as humans. And I am here to help keep that relationship as happy and healthy as possible!”
