Mountain Ridge Animal Hospital
In-House Laboratory
Laboratory testing can identify problems your pet may be experiencing so that proper treatment can begin before a condition worsens.
What does it mean to offer in-house lab-work?
In a nutshell, it means we can do several types of blood testing as well as pre-anesthetic bloodwork on-site instead of always sending samples to an outside lab.
On-site blood testing is a more efficient use of your time and money. You don’t have to wait overnight for us to receive results from the lab, and it saves you potentially making multiple trips to the vet. It also means that we can do pre-anesthetic bloodwork immediately prior to procedures to look for any abnormalities before your pet goes under anesthesia, ensuring the lowest risk to their safety.
Testing provided in the hospital includes:
Chemistry Panels:
Liver enzyme screening
Pancreatic evaluation
Renal (Kidney) profiles
Wellness screenings:
Complete blood counts
General chemistries
Blood gases
Viral screenings:
FelV, FIV in cats
Parvovirus in dogs
While we do offer an extensive range of on-site testing, it is possible that your pet may need laboratory work beyond our scope. For those cases, we are happy to send blood work or other testing to an outside lab that will send results back to us.
